DOCKSTADER FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES GRANTS

The E. Kneale Dockstader Foundation announced the results of its 2008 grant solicitation.  The following projects which enhance the environment in southern Chester county were funded:

Eagle Scout Corey Harrison, Outdoor Classroom:                              $ 3,573
Pocopson Stream Team, Stream Analytical Instrument:                         $ 2,505
Brandywine Valley Assn. Assessment of Little Buck Run Creek:                $20,000
Kennett Area Park Auth. Water Control Structure on Red Clay Creek:          $10,000
Devin Reading, Semi-scholarship Request:                                    $ 1,250
Nottingham Elementary School, Outdoor Classroom:                            $ 3,267
Girl Scouts, Education Pavilion at Camp Tweedale:                           $15,000
Roots and Shoots, Reusable shopping bags:                                   $   750
Lincoln University/Stroud Labs, Env. Education for Elementary Educators:    $11,000
Londonderry Township Park Committee, Native shrubs and trees:               $ 1,000

Established in 2001, the foundation was formed by the Southeastern Chester County Refuse Authority (SECCRA) to honor Mr. Dockstader’s 23-year tenure as Chairman of its Board of Directors.  It will carry on his dedication to helping and improving the SECCRA community.  SECCRA supplies the sole source of funding for the Foundation.
