![]() SENSITIVE DOCUMENT SHREDDING EVENT TO BE HELD AT SECCRA On Saturday, July 19, 2008, SECCRA will sponsor a Sensitive Document Shredding Event, at its facility on Route 926 in Chatham. For that day only, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., residents of SECCRA's service area can bring sensitive documents to be shredded and recycled. Those who bring documents will be able to witness them being destroyed. Document shredding has become popular and in many cases necessary in light of identity theft. Occasionally, SECCRA receives questions from customers, asking, "What happens to the documents that I recycle?" The recycled paper either goes to a paper mill or a farmer. Considering the upswing in identity theft, this does not leave many of us with peace of mind concerning recycling sensitive documents. SECCRA is sponsoring this event in order to provide a service to the community, and reduce the potential of identity theft, while still recycling the paper. As such, all items to be shredded must be paper. This event is open to the public including community businesses; however, we ask that businesses do not bring more than five standard document boxes of papers to be shredded. For more information, contact SECCRA at 610-869-2452. |
