SECCRA WINS RECYCLING GRANT

SECCRA is proud to announce the successful application to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for a $190,000 grant to improve recycling rates in southern Chester County.

The money will be used to fund a large-scale expansion of its cardboard recycling program.  Currently, cardboard is recycled at only 6 of its 12 drop-off recycling centers.  This grant will allow SECCRA to expand cardboard recycling to not only all of its 12 centers, but to other drop-off locations throughout its service area.  The locations for the additional cardboard recycling centers will be announced later this year.

Specifically the funds will be used for the purchase of a front-loading recycle collection vehicle.  The grant also funds the purchase of new drop-off containers which will greatly improve the efficiency of collecting the recyclables with the new truck.
